My daughter showed me an incredible video of a nursing home in USA where the proprietor realised that nursing homes don't have to be depressing they can be joy filled places and he proceeded to bring rescue dogs/cats/rabbits etc to live with the residents in the home he runs. Additionally when a local children's nursery ran out of space they were able to build a separate building on the grounds of the nursing home and the children and seniors spend quality time together. It is a joy to watch the residents and how happy they are. I think this could be the way forward!
